Four Benefits of Blogging

I am often asked, "Can you help me understand how a blog will help generate income?"

And it is such a great question! So much so that I thought I should write a blog about it!

Blogs have many benefits! If you are a small business owner, you may be wondering more than ever how to have a virtual or digital presence to generate engagement and connection with others.

Let's face it. After the COVID19 pandemic of 2020, more than ever, we have been challenged to "Pivot in business" with new ways to support each other in creative new ways.

Believe me when I say, blogs are like a double-dip donut! They are an excellent opportunity to build those relationships as well as generate income. Blogs are an intentional way to offer your expertise and ultimately help your business soar! Here's why.

Showcase that website!

That beautiful website that you may have just invested in is waiting for people to visit! By promoting your blogs on social media, you will get traffic going to your website! You get to continue building your brand and your followers using a blog. Driving people to your website helps your google search engine and analytics work for you. If you are providing knowledge with keywords and intentional SEO (Search engine optimization) planning, the result is you will create a following of loyal customers. They may go to your website to read your blog, and then guess what? You stay in their feed, they share it with others and continually are being led back to your website that is spilling with your services or products for them to consider frequently.

Sell your services or products

Blogs are an opportunity to create a vision for your audience of things they may need, which you can provide. Although your blog should not be a blatant sales pitch, it may evoke a need from your reader that you can meet. For example, if my business is selling skincare and aesthetic services, I can write about the importance of a good skincare regime and another on dealing with Rosacea, with tons of links and photos to the skincare line that I also sell. Not only does it make you sound like an expert, but it can promote what you offer.

Share your knowledge

You own a small business because you are an expert in something. No one else can offer the same services or products as you because of you. You have such a wealth of knowledge to share, which is the reason your business is thriving and working! You have a solution to someone's problem. You have a wealth of expertise related to your business that people want to learn about. Be confident in the knowledge you have to offer. You are an expert, and blogging allows you to share it with others. That builds trust, and then they will want to keep reading and becoming educated about all you are sharing (even if with the help of your ghostwriter :)). Blogs help build your credibility, and if your blog becomes popular, you become an industry expert with intuitive credibility. 61% of consumers have made a purchase based on a blog post, and feel positive loyalty when they can gain valuable information from a website.

Establish trusting relationships

If there is one thing COVID19 has taught every business owner, if they did not know it before, it is that relationships matter. Creating authentic and trusting relationships is the number one way to grow your business. Let people get to know you through your blog. Sharing your branding, personality, voice and values, along with your extensive knowledge, will go a long way to growing your business, maintaining your professional tribe and supporting your clients.

Blogs help you share your expertise, gain more recognition and attract new clients. In the end, your blog has the potential to generate income and build relationships.

Not a writer? No problem.

Hiring a content writer to get it flowing for you professionally on your website is a surefire way to accomplish all of these benefits but allow you to focus on what you do best. A content writer who cares about transcribing your message in a way that emulates you is an excellent way to get started quickly with blogs.
